Jeffrey Hubers

Senior Minister

Rev. Jeffrey Hubers grew up in a small town in South Dakota. Jeffrey attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa where he obtained a Bachelor’s in Communication and Religion. Following undergraduate studies, Jeffrey attended Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan. During his time in seminary, Jeffrey worked for several churches and ministries in a variety of roles and responsibilities. Jeffrey met his wife, Carly, at seminary and they both worked for community ministries together, as well as campus ministry for Hope College in Holland.
After graduating from Western Theological Seminary with an M.Div, Jeffrey was ordained in the Reformed Church in America, the denomination of his birth and baptism. Jeffrey then served as the Associate Pastor of First Reformed Church in Mitchell, South Dakota while his wife, Carly, served as Program Coordinator for the McGovern Center at Dakota Wesleyan University there. Jeffrey and Carly returned to West Michigan when Jeffrey received the call from First Congregational Church of St. Joseph to serve as their Senior Minister. Jeffrey now serves the United Church of Christ, the denomination to which FCC belongs, with full ministerial standing and ordination. Jeffrey and Carly are so thrilled to be back on the lakeshore and love their life at First Congregational Church.
Pastor Jeffrey has been the senior minister since August 2018.
