Email Janel: nursej@fccstjoseph.orgJanel serves as our Parish Nurse, a program begun by Lakeland Healthcare (our local hospital and health care system) in conjunction with local churches. Her primary concern is the physical health of our members. Among other things, Janel answers healthcare questions; visits members in their homes if they have recently been hospitalized or find it difficult to get out; serves as a patient advocate; provides health-related programming; performs blood pressure screenings, and coordinates programming for our Young at Hearts ministry.
Janel received a B.S. in Physical Education from the University of Louisville. She returned home to St. Joseph and acquired her R.N. degree from Lake Michigan College in 1988. At the present time she is working toward her Master’s in Organizational Management. Her experience includes serving as a parish nurse for 7 years in Baroda, MI and several years in a urological office. She and her husband Ron were both raised in St. Joseph. They have two daughters.
